On 9/27 Kevin Covert (promoter of the Bluegrass Adventure and Roots Festival in Algoma and Dave K’s father-in-law) fell about 50-60 feet off of a cliff at Ledge County park while camping. He broke his neck, crushed his back, broke all of his ribs and punctured both lungs. The doctors thought he would be paralyzed from the waist down. After spending 2 1/2 months in the hospital and thanks to a great group of nurses and therapists he is able to walk with help on a walker. Prognosis is better then his family and all his doctors could have imagined. Kevin was laid off at the time and had very little medical insurance. His wife, being self employed as a horticulturist, is also not working for the winter. Kevin’s medical bills have reached the 6 digit mark. They are in great need of our help! Bands – Frogwater with ‘Lil Rev, Tangleweed, Oak Street Ramblers, Madwaukee Stompers, Colin O’brien, Past Blue Rhythm, Eddie Biebel, Take Solace, Good Time Specials, The Nicks. Kids activities – pinata, face painting, Saturday afternoon concert. Friday fish fry, chicken and ribs Saturday. Breakfast Saturday and Sunday. $10 Friday or $15 per couple, $20 Saturday or $25 for both. Kids 12 and under free. Rough camping $10 per person. |
