Sorry such late notice on this one, but as it turns out we won’t be playing at Stone Harbor for the Bridge Fest. Instead you can check us out at the Sturgeon Bay Applebee’s around 7:00 PM this Friday. We’ll be playing outside too! (and no, this does not mean that Take Solace in any way supports the gentrification, homoginization, and franchisement of “mainstreet America.”)

We’ll be selling a short-length, 5 song sampler CD at the Bridge Fest on Friday for $1.  Yes.  One dollar. You’ll tip the bar tenders more than that.  We have a very small supply so get there early and buy it from one of our cd-hawking ladies.

The Steel Bridge Songfest is less than a week away! 100s of musicians will be invading Sturgeon Bay for four days, playing all the bars and coffee shops, forming groups, writing songs, escaping careerist fears… all in front of an audience of thousands who will come from all over the Midwest to enjoy the beauty of Door County’s man-made island, it’s picturesque mainland shore, and the amazing sounds bounding through every doorway, carried on bay breezes and streaming podcasts out into the waiting, waking world…

Take Solace will be playing at Stone Harbor on Friday, June 12th around 8pm. We’re planning on rocking as hard as possible in the hour we have on stage so make sure you get there early. The set’s going to be quick and dirty with no room for messing around. The SBSF is one of our favorite fests and we make sure we deliver on our promise to rock hard, as anyone who saw our show last year can attest to.

With the multitudes of bands that the Songfest offers, you’d be hard pressed to find a better way to spend next weekend. Friday night’s line up at Stone Harbor also includes The Vega Star (whom we enjoy listening to with a glass of scotch and a nice cigar), Ian Olvera Trio, Geri X, and Fatbook.

The festival goes on from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday and covers pretty much the entirety of downtown Sturgeon Bay. See the full line up at SBSF5.com.
