Happy 4th of July!

Tuesday we put together another new rock song.  It’s untitled at this point so I’m just calling it 2008-06-20.  I think I’m losing steam in the espresso machine that is my song naming.    Nah.  I’m just waiting this time.  Normally I name a song after I have the guitar melody down and then I try to fit words to the name – but I don’t feel that’s the best course for this fella.  It’s kind of like naming a baby before you know him.  You could name him Frank and after he develops a personality of his own he could be very long winded and not frank at all.  So, this time I decided to name the song later in it’s life.  After I get to know it for a while.  Learn it’s ins and outs.  Feel its curves.

I’m not sure if I should post the demo or not.  I keep thinking that it is like a magician showing how a trick was done.  Or better yet: How a butcher makes a sausage.  I don’t think any of you want to know how a sausage is made – you just want to eat it.  Can I be wrong?  (Actually, you know I’m infallable since I went to college – Ha!) 

In any case, I’m pretty proud of this short little fella.  Hopefully you’ll get to hear it’s cry at our next show.  It’s got a rockin’ guitar lead and, to most answer most of your prayers, I don’t sing during the chorus.  Dave and Dave will sing the chorus.  Dave² = goodness.
