Take Solace is still looking for a drummer. We had a couple responses from our advertisements on various social networking sites and Milwaukee area message boards but, between a couple leads falling through and me being particularly lazy when I get home from work, we still haven’t found one. (Apologies to anyone I didn’t get back to in time.)
We bought a nice kit not too long ago. It’s a Pearl something-or-other. So anyone that wants to play with us doesn’t have to lug a set around to practice.
[I'd take a picture of our actual kit but I just spent the last 15 minutes looking for some freakin' double-A batteries... No juice no deuce...]
Anyway, if you have the will and the way and would like to play with a bunch of fun loving guys let us know. Comment below. Contact us. Myspace us. Whatever us.
(are we sounding desperate yet…)

Tuesday night was recording night at my house so I threw in a couple of pizzas for the guys. Usually they show up at about 5:30 or 6:00 so at 6:30 I gave Dirk a call to find that he thought we were going to practice at his house. Well, how are you supposed to make a record if you don’t record?
After eating some great pepperoni pizza we sentenced Chris to the recording room to lay down his bass track to “Opening of the Doors.” Dirk (and his heartburn) and I were watching the PBS special WAR. Over the sounds of bombs we could hear Chris ranting and raving about the timing of Dirk’s Guitar track. Dirk unwilling to help and WAR calling for my attention: Chris was out of luck. After a while I made the decision to move on to a different song so we put down a rough track of “Inspiration.” After that, Dirk put down his guitar and Vocals on “She doesn’t even put up a fight.” And the night ended after Chris successfully recorded his banjo part on that same song. Overall, the night was a success.
